Nigeria’s fiscal reporting remains fragmented despite platforms like FAAC, Open Treasury, and GIFMIS. In 2023, over ₦10 trillion was disbursed, yet no consolidated account shows how funds were spent. Rising subnational debt and weak budget transparency deepen the challenge. While reforms such as the 2025 tax consolidation bill and Electronic Fiscal System signal progress, stronger coordination is needed to improve fiscal accountability in Nigeria.
